The music industry is extremely expanding when it comes to the number of artists and the content of music. Most music artists nowadays make it to the mainstream scene completely different. It is easier to be recognized if you can create or come up with a wave or trend that people can like. eg, the trending. DAB dance move. A friend of mine, Tomray (An Upcoming artist, Cape Town), managed to build a fan base through his social media accounts and he was effective in promoting his music online. His song now trending in cape town, got 20 000+ downloads in 1st week of his debut single release, which is a huge milestone for an upcoming artist. It took a lot of sharing links on social media platforms, so you have to be effective in building your social profiles on the internet to promote your music.
